About Sophia

I was raised by the world, first traveling across the pond to the United States as a toddler. I was nurtured in the lush woods of North Carolina and later brought up by the crystal clear waters of Lake Michigan.

I found my home as an adult in the rugged mountains of Iraq, the whimsical forests of Germany, the harsh northwoods of Wisconsin, and the wide open spaces of Oregon. After studying social work in Germany, I have continued to travel the world to find places that take my breath away and allow me to be fully at home, surrounded by the biggest landscapes that make me feel held, empowered, and alive.

I sell my high-quality prints through my online shop, Faire account, and in person throughout Oregon. Using digital illustration as my primary medium allows me to create art wherever I am called to new places of beauty and capture the magic around me in real time. I strive to communicate the feelings that animals evoke in my heart.

I've put down roots across Oregon—from the rugged Southern Oregon mountains to the high desert of Central Oregon and the wild Pacific coast. I continue to be drawn to wide, expansive waters and the untamed landscapes that make this state feel like home.
